Terrace construction begins with creating a small project that includes drawings - sections, plans of the future terrace. These drawings are necessary to understand the height marks of the decking, its attachment to the house, fence, other elements, as well as to draw up a specification for the required materials for terrace construction.
Next, depending on the specific conditions, soil, the equipment accessibility, etc., the foundation is installed. In this case, a concrete foundation was poured.
We have previously installed anchor bolts in the foundation blocks for subsequent adjustment of the installation height of the lag.
Next, through the anchor bolts, we install the lag - usually this is a larch lag - strong and viscous, also pre-treated with a non-washable antiseptic. The lags are installed in the longitudinal and transverse directions. The step of the upper row of lags along the axes should not exceed 500 mm.
Next, we attach the terrace board to the frame. In this project, the customer chose Cumaru wood for their terrace. Cumaru board is very strong and heavy. One of the hardest species on the market. However, at the same time, Cumaru decking requires professionalism in its installation.
We fasten the terrace board with hidden fasteners - a screw, screwed at a 45-degree angle into the edge of the board. With this installation, the fasteners are practically invisible, but at the same time, we use one of the most reliable types of fasteners - screws.
We adjust the terrace boards to each other and straighten them in length, in case the terrace boards have geometric deviations in length, using a special tightening tool.
After installing the terrace board, we cover the edges around the perimeter, and install corner elements.
